In previous post, i have discussed my fourth vCloud Director vApp Usecase. today lets move forward and show you, how to deploy our fifth vApp Use case, which is vApp Routed Network is directly connected to Organization Routed network, vApp Routed and Organization Routed Network means, vApp Network is not directly connected to Organization External Network. There are two vShield Edge (VSE) firewalls are in between the both networks. one is between vApp Network and Organization Network and Second one is in between Organization and Organization External Network.
In this Lab we will perform following tasks
- Architecture diagram for vApp Use Case 5.
- Deploy vApp Use Case 5: vApp Network (Routed) -> Organization VDC Network (Routed)
1-Architecture diagram for vApp Use Case 5
Following is architecture diagram for vApp Use case 5, which I am going to configure in this post.
2-Deploy vApp Use Case 5: vApp Network (Routed) -> Organization VDC Network (Routed)
To deploy vApp, you should login to your Organization. in my case, i am choosing my Organization SkyNet for this use case.so login to “SkyNet Organization” on following vCloud Director Organization URL https://vcloud.vmlab.com/cloud/org/skynet
NOTE: This the same Organization, which i have created/configured in my previous post vCloud Director Foundation- “Organizations Configuration”
From Organization login Screen, provide SkyNet Organization admin Credentials “skynetadmin/password”
Once login go to my “My Cloud” Tab -> Click on highlighted icon to build a new vApp in HITech Organization.
Click the “Build New vApp” icon from menu
Name your vApp, as per my vApp architecture diagram, i Chooses vApp name “vApp5-vAppRouteOrgRouted”, Next choose your “Org VDC” according to vApp architecture diagram, where vApp will be deployed and set the vApp leases, Once done-> Click “Next”
NOTE: This the same vDC, which i have created/configured in my previous post vCloud Director Foundation- “Organization vDCs Configuration”
Choose Catalog “Public Catalog”, Select vApp “RHEL-Template” from vApp templates -> Click “Add” Twice. Once done. Click “Next”
NOTE: This the same catalog and vApp template, which i have created/configured in my previous posts “vCloud Director Foundation- “Organization Catalog and User Rights Configuration” and vCloud Director Organizations- “Create vApp Templates” respectivly
Select the Full Name of VMs as per architecture diagram, which are “vApp5-Web1” and “vApp5-Web2” respectively and choose the Storage policy-> Click “Next”
From vApp Network, we required a vApp Routed network. As you can see below, there is no vApp Network exits, so we have to create a new vApp Network first-> Choose “Add Network”
Enter “vApp Network Details” as per vApp architecture diagram -> Click “Next”
Enter vApp Network Name “vApp5-Network-Routed” for our newly created vApp Network.
Set the Computer Name of vApp5-Web1 into “vApp5-Web1” and vApp5-Web2 into “vApp5-Web2”. in vApp Network this time choose your newly created vApp Network “vApp5-Network-Routed””-> Click “Next”
In Connect Type Choose “SkyNet-Prod-Org-Routed” Org VDC Network ->Click “Finish”
NOTE: this is same networks, which i created/configured in my previous post vCloud Director Organizations- “Create Organization vDC Networks”
Wait for a while to deploy the vApp. once done, see the virtual Machine information (IP/Host/Storage/Network) of “vApp5-vAppRouted-OrgRouted”. Click on vApp and choose “Virtual Machine” tab as shown below.
