vRA-Lab-04-How to Configure Identity Appliance

Once vRealize Identity Appliance VM has deployed. “Power On” the VM and wait for VM to completely ready.

Go to the “vRealize Identity Appliance” configuration URL “https://identityapplainceIP:5480” and provide default “root” user credentials. Which you configured during the Appliance installation process-> Click “Login”.

Once logged in. Go to “SSO tab -> SSO” for SSO Configuration. Set the “vSphere.local” credentials and Click “Apply”. Once apply wait for a while to configure and Check the SSO Status. It should be in “Running” state

Next go to “Host Setting” tab under “SSO”. In “SSO Hostname” enter the identity appliance host name and click “Apply”

This is optional step. But it is good practice to create your own self sign certificate. In “SSL” tab under “SSO”. Enter the certificate info and make sure “common name” should be the same as your Identity appliance FQDN. In Choose Action Select “Generate Self Signed Certificate” -> Click “Apply Settings”

Once you click “Apply Settings”. Make sure your newly created self-signed certificate is replaced with the old one as you see the Green highlighted success message in below screen shot.

Next go to “Active Directory” tab under “SSO” and join the appliance to the domain. Enter the “domain name” and “administrative credentials” -> Click “Join AD Domain”

Verify your appliance has joined the domain as highlighted below.
